He wrote his music in full orchestral scores, without corrections of any kind, until late in life when he was sick. Frédéric Chopin composed his Piano Sonata No. 3 in B minor, Op. 58, in 1844 and dedicated it to Countess Emilie de Perthuis. The K there is for Kochel (two dots  over the "o"), whose catalog numbers for Mozart are universally  used. Built essentially on classical principles though in an expanded form, this work contains some of the energy and drama of his 'Herioic' Middle Period.

Mozart, on the other hand, reached consummate mastery of the piano concerto in less than five years (he composed fifteen concertos between 1782 and 1786). It incorporates not just grief over, but also anger at the wasteful loss of his great friend, Maximilian Schmidthof. During those seasons, operas were expressly forbidden to be performed, as they were secular. Initially also the word "sinfonia" was used instead of concerto. The movement is scored for just piano and strings and the strings play in unison a disturbed and striking theme which is answered by a soothing and tender piano.
