This publication does not intend to discuss the factors leading to the spectacular performance of Indonesia and Malaysia. However in these countries solid research and development has been undertaken backed by a conscious desire to implement research findings. The plantation development culture acquired from long cultivation and processing of latex rubber was a good foundation on which to introduce the large-scale plantation cultivation of palm oil. Mastery of technology and rapid mechanisation, together with government support to the industry as a systematic and strategic industrial development policy, facilitated private sector investment in this sector. These factors as well as many others have all played a part in the development of the Far East’s rise to prominence in the oil palm industry.

“Palm oil, the leading edible oil globally in respect of production, trade and consumption, is a target of vested corners since long, terming it as tropical oil and hazardous for human health. In the internet, a lot of anti-palm oil propaganda with unproven and misleading information and abusing palm oil is going on. No doubt, recent effort of Australian Senate to adopt Food Standards Amendment ( Truth in Labeling palm oil) bill 2010, is a part of said propaganda of vested corners.

Facts narrated in the blog of Dr. Yusuf Basiron, CEO of MPOC, covering various aspects of palm oil with authentic and scientifically proven information and data has been contributing greatly to dispel the said propaganda against palm oil.

Presently, as gathered, about 30% of global requirements of oils and fats is being met-up by palm oil with competitive price contributing to stabilize the price of oils and fats and it is being possible because of its highest acreage yield. What would happen if there had been no palm oil and how the present global demand of 170 million tonnes of oils and fats could have been met-up?”

Consuming Palm oil products is the way to good overall health, it is so natural that coconut water can be used to inject into patients to replace plasma, as was used after WW2 for soldier's when wounded, it also has the constituents of mothers milk, and can be used to wean the babies from breast feeding, the babies milk makers use it in their formula for further feeding of the growing child, it is so important the health giving properties of the coconut and it's oils are more widely publicised and the medical properties recognised. read the book "Coconut cures," by Bruce Fife N.D. coconut and it's oils can even help to bring cancer among other diseases under control, and prolong life, like a man who only used coconut oil all his life, and died at 92 years old with hardly a wrinkle on his face.
No wonder the "Greens " want to ban it so the other so called healthy oils are promoted, they are produced using
heat, as in margarine, and other items, and producing unhealthy products, nothing can beat coconut, oils and other products made from it, the only reason some people want to ban it, is money, lets get the public aware of the benefit of the wonderful coconut.
Also, if you read your bible at Ezekiel 47 verse 12, the coconut is the only tree or plant I know of that fits the description, so read the book and learn something to your advantage, if you are suffering some ailment you could be looking at your natural cure, which costs a tiny amount of what the doctors charge. I do not have any tie in with Fifes book, I just know from reading it, I will never trust chemical medicines into my body again. God bless you with good health, ever yours, Stan Baker
