About

For years, the Malaysian palm oil industry has been under serious and unfair allegations made by NGOs. Started with the tropical oil campaign in which the saturated fat in palm oil is alleged to be dangerous and contributes to heart disease. After scientific research and findings suggested otherwise, in which palm oil is a healthy oil that contains antioxidants and high carotene, and less harmful than trans-fat, the NGOs are now bringing in new issues on Malaysian palm oil industry – environment sustainability and killing of orang-utan. All of these baseless, non-scientific allegations are disguises made by various parties to impose trade barriers as palm oil has proven its versatility mainly in the oils and fats, oleochemical and also biofuel market.

I hope through this blog, people will get the facts right as I will try to inform and open your mind on the real practice of Malaysia palm oil industry, and helping you not to fall for biased NGO campaigns. All of the post will be based on facts, and my personal opinion, knowledge and years of experience in the Malaysian palm oil industry.

EXCELLENT PUBLICATION SPOILED BY INACCURATE DATA
I picked up a copy of “Fact Sheets: Malaysian Palm Oil” at the recent World Halal Forum, and I agree with most of it’s content.
However, you are not helping your cause by publishing RIDICULOUS DATA FROM F.A.O.
Much of the data on page 47 is suspect, but the Nitrogen Input figures are TOTAL NONSENSE. Soybean is claimed to have a N.I. 300% more than other crops. Soybean is a legume, and does not require, or respond to, high nitrogen inputs. Sunflowers, and especially Rape, do respond to high N.I.s
I am a professional Agriculturist working localy, and I am basicaly on your side.
